HolyCalm (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Christian meditation app developed by Bruno Silva. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
HolyCalm stores certain data on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Your profile information (name, goals, preferred meditation time)
- Listening history and favorites
- Streak and progress data
This data is stored exclusively on your device. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.
No Account Required
HolyCalm does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your email address, password, or any other login credentials.
2. Content Delivery
HolyCalm fetches audio content, categories, and devotional material from our servers (hosted on Supabase). These requests are read-only — no personal data is sent to our servers during content retrieval.
3. Analytics and Advertising Attribution
We use Facebook SDK solely for advertising attribution purposes. The following app events may be collected:
- App install events
- Registration completion events
Advertiser ID collection is disabled by default. We only enable advertiser ID collection if you explicitly grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline tracking, no advertiser identifier is collected or shared.
We do not use any other analytics services. We do not track your in-app behavior, listening habits, or browsing patterns.
4. App Tracking Transparency
In accordance with Apple’s guidelines, HolyCalm requests your permission via the App Tracking Transparency framework before enabling any form of tracking. You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device’s Settings under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing, payment processing, and subscription management is handled by Apple. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your payment data.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Data may be shared only in these limited circumstances:
- Facebook (Meta): Attribution events as described in Section 3, only with your ATT consent.
- Apple: Subscription and payment data handled by Apple as described in Section 5.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
7. Data Security
Since your personal data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device’s built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID), your data benefits from Apple’s device-level encryption. Our content servers use HTTPS for all communications.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restriction: Request restriction of processing of your data.
- Right to Data Portability: Request transfer of your data in a structured format.
- Right to Object: Object to the processing of your personal data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Since HolyCalm stores your data locally on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly: edit your profile in the app, or delete the app to permanently erase all local data. For any Facebook attribution data, you can revoke tracking permission in your device settings. For any other GDPR requests, contact us at support@holycalm.online.
9. Children’s Privacy
HolyCalm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@holycalm.online and we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
